1974 Honda CR125M Elsinore
A rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally original and unrestored example of Honda’s legendary first generation CR125 M Elsinore.
Originally sold new by Gore Motorcycles Honda, this CR was supplied to a local farming family then traded back a few years later, most likely because it proved unsuitable as a farm bike!
Gore Motorcycles subsequently retained the Elsinore and displayed it in their showroom for a number of years, until the business transitioned from Honda to Yamaha. Then it was purchased in the early 90's by McIver & Veitch and from that point has remained in a collection for more than thirty years.
The motorcycle has not been ridden since leaving its first owner and remains in remarkable condition. It still carries all original factory details, including the factory inspection yellow paint applied to rear brake bolts, and all of its components are believed to be original.
While there are a few marks on the guards and fuel tank, these are consistent with its 51 years of age, presenting as authentic patina.
The ‘74 Honda CR125M Elsinore is regarded as one of the first & most important production motocross models ever built, and examples in such untouched condition are exceptionally rare.
Now offered to the market, this machine must be considered among the finest surviving in original condition, unrestored Elsinore’s in existence.
Here's an opportunity for serious collectors that is unlikely to be repeated.
